Miami, FL (or is it Sacramento, CA?)

It's been a minute since I was able to continue my work here. As I posted previously, I was in California for a couple of weeks tending to family matters in my beloved hometown.

I will hopefully resume my regular posts next week.

The weather in California was lovely and Northern California was the verdant, beautiful place of Steinbeck's novels. I only wish I had been able to take more photos of it, but I got a few.

I'm back in Miami now and this weekend is booked solid with things I'll be taking photos and videos of, from the Pride Parade in Miami Beach, to the prayer vigil at Alligator Alcatraz, to my favorite nonprofit's big event, the Nehemiah Action Assembly where they come together to get public officials to get stuff done.

Signs of Protest in Sacramento

There were plenty of signs of protest in Sacramento, literally, and I was able to capture a few with the camera. The ICE Stop signs were inspired by a stop sign near my brother's house that someone put an ICE sticker on. Someone complained about "defacing public property" so the lady made a bunch of signs that say "STOP ICE" and distributed them to anyone who wanted one.

And of course Sacramento showed out for No Kings 3. I captured this video at that event of people marching from the Yolo County (Trump country) side of the Sacramento River to the Sacramento County (not Trump country) at the start of the event, which was attended by an estimated 8,000 people.
