Protests and Actions (P and A)

This page is dedicated to visual storytelling of protests and actions I've attended or at least have access to original photos. I took all photos unless otherwise noted. The software I'm using here makes it hard to put alt text into the "gallery" style photo collections, and for that, I apologize. If you want a larger copy of any photo that I took, just ask and I can get you that. If you are in a photo or know someone in one of these photos that would rather not be posted here, let me know and I'll gladly remove it.
The narrative and better alt text for these photos will appear in the respective weekly posts, though not every photo here will be there.
The truth is, these are small protests in the grand scheme of things. Only one (the town hall) has over 100 participants. So do these work? Do they matter? In answer to that, I'd ask another question: Do billboards work? Why? Or, why do some businesses pay someone to stand outside and wave a sign? Because they do work. The more memorable the spectacle, the more the passerby will remember it and think about it.
So, when will you join a protest?

Krome Detention Facility March 29, 2025

I never found parking at the Krome protest and at the time, about 15 minutes into the scheduled start, there were only a few protestors there. Apparently, that changed after I left for the Tesla Takedown, which was only about 9 miles away but because it's Miami took an hour to get to. I'm absolutely not a fan of Instagram or any other Meta product but this video has some good images from the protest. I did not take any image on the Instagram link.
